They not only use Honduras mahogany for both the neck and body, they also use Brazilian rosewood for the fretboard, long neck tenon construction (unlike the old Tokais), carefully selected pots so their values are as close as possible to 500K, and in the case of the LS540, one pair of the best regarded PAF reproduction pickups you can find today. Not really sure about the old ones regarding mahogany, but in every other respect the modern high end Tokais are a much more faithful reproduction of the original bursts. It's one of the best guitars I've played. The quality, fit and finish, playability and sound of the instrument are totally outstanding. I haven't got the chance to spend some quality time with an old LS120/LS150/LS200, but I own a 2005 LS320 fitted with Rolphs, so it's basically the same guitar as a current LS540.
